Job Summary:

Develop data acquisition, low-level hardware drivers in C, and control software to be implemented on rapid prototyping embedded systems for use with automotive systems. Implement custom data acquisition and control modules in Verilog. Perform wiring, soldering, and electronic troubleshooting as required. Work directly with clients to understand system requirements. Support the team to define and develop customized system features; bringing concept to reality by leveraging existing designs and COTS technology.

Education/Experience:

Requires a BS degree in Electrical, Computer Engineering, or closely related degree with 0-5 years experience; must have at least a 3.0 GPA. MS or PHD in engineering related to embedded systems is a plus. Hands-on software and electrical troubleshooting experience and electrical test equipment (oscilloscope, function generator, power supplies) required; academic experience is acceptable. Experience w/ C++, Python a plus. Familiarity with FPGAs, Verilog or VHDL; experience with Xilinx products is preferred. Detailed knowledge of sensor and actuator conditioning and drive circuitry is preferred. Experience with multithreaded programming and embedded RTOSs (especially QNX and/or real-time Linux) is preferred. Familiarity with IC engines and powertrain sensors and actuators and automotive communication protocols a plus (CAN, LIN; OBD, UDS) is preferred. Experience with a PCB CAD program (especially Alitum) is preferred. Familiarity with source control (Git or Mercurial), software/hardware testing (e.g. regression testing, acceptance testing, TDD), software development process is preferred. A valid/clear driver's license is required.
