NSK Americas Environmental Health and Safety Intern in Ann Arbor, Michigan
Responsible for becoming the EMR-A and SMR–A for AHQ: conduct 6S, Safety and Environmental audits at site; become a trainer for new hire EHS orientation. Attend EHS and ISO 14001 CFT Meetings – maintain minutes. Become part of NSK Americas EHS Environmental Management Representative Assistant Team and Safety Management Representative Assistant attending EHS Round Tables.
Create and update NSKA EHS documents; Manage and control NSK Americas EHS and AHQ EHS Documents
Secondary point person for EHS notifications from TNSK and NSKA sites Log the requests; receive and process responses. (Safety Manager and Environmental and Chemical Manager will maintain primary responsibility respectively)
Train NSK AHQ New Employee Hires for EHS as needed
Create reports from NSKA EHS and Fire prevention. Analyze the data to categorize according defined areas. Collate annual data and submit as needed internally and externally
Monitor open CPARs from EHS and Fire audits; Follow up in on NSKA site Corrective Action Status and report to NSKA EHS Managers with status report with analysis
Interface with Quality and sites to schedule EHS audits to assure they are completed per standard requirements; Confirm Compliance audits are scheduled at sites
Provide monthly metrics to NSKA EHS Managers
Attend and participate in NSKA EHS Steering Committee Meeting (responsible for taking minutes and scheduling meeting)
Maintain calendar for NSKA EHS activities. Maintain NSKA EHS Training Matrix
Intermittently support NSKA sites with special needs such as an interim person to enter data into data management system in the event a site EMR/SMR departs
Provide ISN data entry as determined by Safety Manager
Provide support document and redevelopment for NSKA files.
Environmental Health & Safety related majors pursuing a Bachelor degree or higher. Prefer students with Sophomore through Senior status in school.
