Above all, we believe that collaboration is the best way forward.Primary ResponsibilitiesAs Power Transmission/Distribution Section Manager you will be in position to inspire, lead and oversee the activities of a capable and growing Michigan-based design team including project engineers, EITs and designers. You will help in managing this team across multiple established client relationships as well as fostering new business both locally and in collaboration with other HDR areas nationally. The primary duties of the Section Manager are to supervise, lead, and grow the transmission/distribution design teams and oversee execution of projects delivered by the teams with the goal of delivering world class services to clients. Other duties include contributing to the ongoing development of both internal and external client relationships including proposal development and coordination. Specific responsibilities include:Project management and/or engineering management of line design projects including project planning; monitoring of scope, schedule, and budget; quality control of deliverables; and development of deliverables such as calculations, models, specifications, and drawings.Leadership and operational management of the team including direct supervision, assignment of staff to projects, staff workload monitoring and forecasting, and staff hiring/mentoring/trainingerformance/retention. This includes maintaining a positive work environment for the team, promoting staff participation in the local community, and driving continuous growth of the team with respect to team size and capabilities.Contributing to the growth of local clients via exceeding client expectations during the execution of projects, maintaining regular communications with select clients, proactively identifying future opportunities, development of proposals, and client management.Close collaboration with technical peers, local operations, section managers in other offices, and members of HDR's national power delivery leadership team.Understanding and monitoring compliance with all applicable safety policies and procedures to help maintain a saf
