This position is responsible for driving electrical designs for new product development of complex medical device products. The position requires a strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and great verbal and written communication for collaboration with other cross functional associates. This associate will also be responsible to deliver new designs which includes directing Electrical Engineering Associates that are part of the design team.
Creates new designs and prepares documentation required to release new designs into the quality system.
Prepares and conducts technical reviews and evaluate product design through informal and formal design reviews as well as through design verification testing and writing reports.
Maintains and follows proper compliance with medical device Quality System requirements and applicable global regulatory requirements.
Troubleshoots PCB Assemblies that are part of electrical & electro-mechanical prototypes.
Assures product quality by designing and qualifying test equipment and test methods.
Performs Root Cause Analysis.
Coordinates with Manufacturing Engineers to incorporate test procedures into manufacturing instructions and related process documents.
Participates in cross functional activities – Requirements, Risk review, manufacturing work instructions, quality inspections.
Supports manufacturing personnel when electronic troubleshooting is required.
Other duties as assigned.
Requires a four-year degree in an Electrical Engineering curriculum.
Requires ten (10) years of experience in an engineering environment OR graduate-level coursework in a specialized engineering field.
Ability to create Engineering schematics, BOM’s, PBC files, drawings, databases.
Experience designing test methods and generating formal documentation for testing.
Experience testing electrical systems and components using typical electronic lab tools.
Strong motivation and a history of self-driven engineering excellence through hands-on experience in product development.
