Stellantis’s Advanced Propulsion & Vehicle Controls department is seeking an experienced controls engineer to work in the Advanced ePropulsion System & Vehicle Controls organization to develop high quality controls algorithms and solutions. We are looking for top talent to continue the development of current and next generation Propulsion technologies for Stellantis. We are seeking an Engineer with experience in controls systems particularly in electrified propulsion and/or engine controls, propulsion systems development, and/or calibration. The candidate must be a strong team player, quick learner, systems focused with interdisciplinary experience and expertise. The Engineer must be willing to work in an innovative yet fast paced environment.
The ideal candidate will have experience in and be able to significantly contribute in many of the following areas:
Classical and Modern controls systems
Data science based controls techniques like Machine Learning
Electric motor controls
Energy management and charging systems
Vehicle controls (chassis, brake regen, ride control)
Utilization of sensors in feedback and feedforward control strategies
Integrated Propulsion control (torque characterization, engine/motor/transmission interactions)
Propulsion optimization strategies
Auxiliary load management and optimization
Thermal characterization and thermal management
Fuel economy and performance optimization
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Applied Science, Control System, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Computer Engineering, or a related Engineering field from an ABET accredited program or equivalent program
3 years of experience in controls or calibration engineering — an advanced degree and/or academic research in a related field may count towards experience requirement
Experience with model-based development tools such as MATLAB/SIMULINK
Demonstrated technical problem solving
Experience in electrified propulsion systems, engine controls, or control theory
Experience with automotive powertrain plant and controller modeling, simulation, development, testing and validation
Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skill
Demonstrated application of technical excellence
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or related Engineering field from an ABET accredited program or equivalent program
Understanding of classical and modern control disciplines with vehicle application
EV/ePropulsion system calibration and/or embedded software experience
Experience with data acquisition and analysis tools such as ETAS-INCA, ASCMO, CANalyzer, or dSPACE
Experience with modeling tools such as GT Power, AmeSim, Flowmaster or any other controls related co-simulation
