Overview:

Active driver assistance systems are fundamental building blocks towards this goal. Our Controls Engineers are responsible for developing a robust driving functions stack to enable safe, comfortable and predictable vehicle control for worldwide application.

Core Responsibilities:

  1. Development of active safety and automated driving situation analysis and interpretation algorithms.

  2. Development and calibration of motion planning and control algorithms.

  3. Analysis of measurement data from test vehicles using advanced data analysis techniques as necessary to provide insight and inspire future development.

  4. Collaborate effectively with multiple engineering teams, both internal and external, to determine requirements, architecture and test methods to ensure on-time achievement of project objectives.

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in a related engineering field, mathematics, physics, or computer science

  • Expertise with C/C++, Matlab/Simulink, and complex embedded control systems

  • Firm grasp of statistical concepts and ability to analyze large sets of data

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills

  • Must be willing to work on different products and serve many different roles to fill department needs

  • Must be willing to travel internationally or domestically

Preferred Qualifications:

• Self-starter, with an ability to work within a team or autonomously

• Advanced degree (Masters/PhD) in related engineering field, mathematics, physics or computer science

• Hands on experience with Markov Decision Processes, motion planning (A, D, RRTs etc.), optimal estimation methods (e.g. Kalman filtering), Vehicle Dynamics

• 1+ years professional experience at a robotics, aerospace, defense or automotive company developing safety and/or mission-critical control systems

• Hands-on experience with CarMaker and/or CarSim

• Exposure to Requirements Management Tools such as Doors, Software Engineering Processes (V-Cycle, Agile, Waterfall)

• Clean driving record and willingness to work with test vehicles
