We have exciting opportunities for exceptional candidates to work directly on automated driving features on some of the most successful vehicle brands in the industry for FCA’s ambitious rollout plan. As a member of FCA’s Automated Driving Software team, you will be responsible for the design, development, simulation, testing, integration, and deployment of the latest cutting edge technologies across platforms to consumer markets worldwide.

This position will function as a member of the Automated Driving Software team and will be responsible for the design, development, simulation, testing and integration of SAE Level 2, 3, and 4 automated driving features and functional software. The ideal candidate will possess a good understanding of modern chassis and driver assistance vehicle systems and have a good multi-domain knowledge of one or more automated driving software subsystems; including, Vehicle Dynamics Modeling, Raw and Object-level Sensor Fusion, Path Planning, Path Following, Environment Modeling, Localization, Machine Learning, and High Definition Mapping.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related Engineering field

  • 3 years of software development experience in embedded, control systems, or algorithm development in C, C++, and/or Python Proficiency in generating Algorithm

  • Description and Test Case Documentation

  • Experience in OSEK and/or AUTOSAR concepts

  • Experience in embedded software Static Analysis, Structural Testing and Functional Testing Principals

  • Experience in embedded SiL/MiL functional regression testing

  • High level of technical problem solving ability techniques

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited university

  • 5 or more years’ overall software development experience

  • 5 or more years developing safety critical embedded software functions within an IEC-61508, ISO-26262 or DO-178B development environment

  • Experience utilizing Robot Operating System (ROS) as a rapid development environment

  • Experience working within an Agile/Scrum software development process

  • Prior Experience in ADAS, Active Safety, Active Chassis or Automated Driving Software and Controls

  • A working knowledge of AUTOSAR Adaptive Platform concepts

  • Academic or professional development experience with POSIX thread level programming

  • Professional development experience using message passing middleware topologies (e.g. DDS, LCM, ROS)

  • Experience with authoring ASIL compliant software code and use of functional safety code analysis tools

  • Experience with autonomous algorithm techniques including Kalman filters, particle filters and grid fusion, lidar point cloud processing, monocular and stereo image

  • processing, high precision GPS, finite state machines, Hybrid A*, RRT, and various control algorithms including PID, MPC, and LQR

  • Experience with programming hardware accelerators (CUDA, OpenCL, OpenEyeQ, …)

  • Experience with machine learning concepts and tools plus application to inference engines in pattern recognition, decision making, and/or training

  • Experience with multi-Core architecture micro-controllers

  • Experience in QT

  • Experience with authoring ASIL compliant software code and use of functional safety code analysis tools

  • Experience with autonomous algorithm techniques

  • Experience with programming hardware accelerators (CUDA, OpenCL, OpenEyeQ, etc.)

  • Experience with ML concepts and tools plus application to inference engines in pattern recognition, decision making, and/or training
