Job Overview


FCA is seeking a qualified Development Lead (DL) for High Voltage (HV) Connector Systems & Wiring who provides technical leadership to a team of engineers within Vehicle Product Engineering. The DL will be the technical lead for the selection & industrialization of HV Connectors & Wiring for Electrified vehicle applications globally. The candidate will be responsible for the activities of internal engineering resources, cross organizational co-ordination as well as supplier management to select, develop, package, validate, implement HV connector systems and wiring to meet program timing and deliverables for multiple vehicle programs.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop product specifications & evaluation of supplier technical solutions

  • Development & implementation of design best practices

  • Virtual and physical validations (DFMEA / DVP&R)

  • Lesson’s learned, Standardization, Innovation and quality improvement activities

  • Supplier development and selection process

  • Develop test strategies and validation plans for robust DVP&R

  • Resolve issues and problems that arise

  • Product related issue resolution in vehicle plants

  • Provide status updates on issues or projects to the senior leadership team

    The selected candidate will also promote global excellence in engineering through standardized designs, harmonized specifications, and continual learning. Additionally, the DL supports the Design Responsible Manager in assessing and developing the competency and leadership development of the organization.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent (Materials /Chemical/ Civil/ Aerospace/Computer/Computer Science or equivalent) from an ABET accredited university

  • 5 years of Product Development and leadership experience in automotive industry

  • 3 years of experience in the selection & industrialization of HV Connector systems & wiring

  • Strong background in product design, analysis, development and vehicle launch experience

  • Familiarity with USCAR & International High Voltage & Connector standards

  • Good understanding of vehicle packaging

  • Knowledgeable in EBOM, Teamcenter and NX

  • Demonstrated ability in the application of DFMEA and DVP&R processes

  • Result oriented, energetic self-starting leader with ability to direct cross –functional teams

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university

  • Familiarity with HV connector & harness drawings along with specifications for automotive applications

  • DFSS Green Belt certification

  • Experience in high volume manufacturing facilities
