Qualifications

FCA is seeking anElectrical and Electronic Systems Validation Engineerwho will be responsible for developing electrical system validation test plans and procedures for automotive body, audio, active chassis and/or safety systems. TheElectrical and Electronic Systems Validation Engineerwill require the extensive use of CAN testing tools and traditional electrical testing equipment in an electrical lab atmosphere to test and troubleshoot vehicle systems.

TheElectrical and Electronic Systems Validation Engineerwill design automated test benches to support the above systems as well as troubleshoot complex automotive electrical issues. TheElectrical and Electronic Systems Validation Engineerwill perform vehicle level networking testing, analyze the data and validate the integrity of the vehicle system.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent (Materials/Chemical/ Civil/Aerospace/Computer) from an ABET accredited university

• Valid driver’s license

• Must be able and willing to drive and test vehicles

• Must be able to drive a company car

• Must be able to obtain a chauffeur’s license to drive heavy duty pick-up trucks

• Must be able to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent (Materials /Chemical/Civil/Aerospace/Computer) from an ABET accredited university

• Minimum FIVE (5) years of experience in automotive engineering

• Demonstrated experience with electrical debugging tools such as a digital multi-meter, oscilloscope, CAN diagnostic tools (CANoe/CANalyzer), current probes and other diagnostic equipment

• Demonstrated ability to read and analyze digital communications data (CAN)

• Desire to work on vehicles and in a hands-on test environment

• Demonstrated ability to develop a solid test plan from product requirements

• Demonstrated experience developing requirements-based test plans for electrical systems

• Demonstrated experience performing vehicle and system level validation

• Demonstrated experience with DFMEA and DVP&R processes

• Demonstrated Microsoft Office and G Suite (Google) Application Skills

• DFSS or Reactive training or certification

• Demonstrated design or validation experience

• Extensive experience in high-speed digital and logic design

• Demonstrated knowledge of CAN bus and experience using Vector CAN tools

• Demonstrated experience with CAN Diagnostic tools, CANoe, CANalyzer

• Demonstrated ability to determine root cause and to debug CAN and CAN FD communication buses

• Trained in DVP (Design Validation Plan) and DFMEA (Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis)

• Demonstrated experience in root cause analysis or certified problem-solving skills (Reactive Quality Green Belt or Reactive Quality Black Belt)

• Demonstrated proficiency in all aspects of project development from vision and scope through all phases of design, development, implementation, deployment and project exit

• Demonstrated system or component automated bench testing design experience including knowledge of programming languages (i.e. CAPL script)

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
