Qualifications
The Engine Development and Calibration Engineer is responsible for conducting engine hardware and systems testing along with calibration development. The Engine Development and Calibration Engineer will plan and coordinate day to day activities of an engine dynamometer including interaction with technicians and support engineers. In addition, test plans and timelines will be developed and reports generated to communicate the status of the program to the larger team. Evaluations will occur with new engine hardware and powertrain technologies for future and carry over applications.
The Engine Development and Calibration Engineer will analyze and solve complex system problems as they relate to engine performance, fuel consumption, emissions, and base engine calibration development. The engineer will manipulate and utilize large and complex sets of engine mapping data. The Engine Development and Calibration Engineer will also actively participate in the decision process of base engine hardware selection and core engine calibration to achieve functional objectives
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent Engineering degree
Experience in the development and calibration of spark ignition engines, emissions development, OBDII diagnostics, or powertrain systems development is preferred
Fundamental knowledge of internal combustion engines
Data acquisition experience collecting and processing data
Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills
Good teamwork skills and ability to work independently
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Master of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
Calibration process knowledge using design of experiments and advanced optimization techniques
Proficient in advanced simulation tools
