The primary responsibility is to design, develop, test and release e-mobility propulsion solutions.bResponsibilities:/bulliDevelop "clean sheet" designs and design modifications using sound engineering principles/liliPerform engineering calculations/liliDirect and collaborate with CAD designers to develop new axle concepts/liliDevelop bill of materials/liliDesign new parts in CAD to include, but not limited to, spiral bevel, hypoid, parallel axis (spur and helical) and straight bevel gears/liliReview FEA results and make design judgements/liliEnsure accurate and timely completion of new designs and modifications to components and sub-systems/liliSupport and solve deviation requests, noise, durability and other field issues/liliDetermine appropriate DVPR level to validate the product and execute to completion by initiating Test Requests, supporting data review and interpretation and thorough review of Test Reports. Support test methodology for evaluating gears (performance, LMM, and single flank test)/liliSupport DFMEA activity and assessment to Best Practices to guide product design; including either generation of new or modification of existing/liliDevelop a solid understanding of the manufacturing aspects of design and provide manufacturing support/liliWork with suppliers, Purchasing and Supplier Quality Engineers to support cost reductions, sourcing, design changes, etc./liliWork with internal Advanced Analysis group as required/liliOther duties as assigned/li/ulbEducation Requirement:/bulliBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering/liliMaster's degree preferred/li/ulbRequired Skills:/bulli5+ years of product design and development experience/liliThorough knowledge of mechanical systems and gear design/liliProficient in 3D CAD Tools/liliStrong oral and written communication skills/liliStrong analytical ability and organizational skills/liliAbility to read drawings and blueprints/liliLimit stacking, GDT knowledge and experience/li/ulbPreferred Skills:/bulliAbility to develop gear, bearing and driveline simulations using MASTA/li/ulAllison Transmission is an equal opportunity employer.
