The Engineer will work in concert with the Engine Calibration, Transmission Calibration, Chassis Systems and Vehicle Teams. Develop and implement best practice design and calibration solutions. Perform verification testing in accordance with Powertrain system functional objectives. Use standard instrumentation toolsets for data acquisition, storage, and analysis. Follow standard procedures and drive cycle guidelines for data collection. Perform calibration work that focuses on new engine or transmission programs, and powertrain system adaptation to new vehicles, and controls feature implementation support. Optimize calibrations for performance and fuel economy with transmission and base engine calibration. Incorporate design for Six Sigma best practices to optimize system designs. Develop and track hardware and calibration solutions that meet system functional objectives. Provide regular overview summaries and detailed reports on specific assignments, including timing projections. The work typically includes some travel throughout the year for issue discovery and system validation/verification.Basic Qualifications:•BSME, BSEE or equivalent from an ABET accredited university•Minimum of 2 years of experience in Engine Systems Calibration•Minimum of 3 years of experience in Transmission Calibration and/or Interactive Controls•2 or more years ETAS INCA Tool experience in building experiments or equivalent data acquisition experience•Minimum of 5 years of total related experiencePreferred Qualifications:•MSME or MSEE from an ABET accredited university•ETC Torque Map Calibration experience•ETC Torque Shaping/Filtering Calibration experience•Fuel Cut-off/Re-fuel Transition Shaping Calibration experience•Tip-in/Tip-out Bump Calibration experience•Clutch to Clutch shift controls knowledge and experience•Hardware In the Loop development /verification•Database management of production calibrations•CAN communicationsOur benefits reflects the FCA commitment to helping you reach your personal and professional goals.
