Position Summary:

Performs major procurement activities, in the acquisition of a broad range of products for the Powertrain Assembly Plant. Assists in implementing strategies that support AMGBOS and provide a competitive advantage, while also implementing best-in-class processes and tools to drive superior performance. Understand, analyze and communicate cost and supplier data in a Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)/Government environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Major procurement activities include spend of around $100M for the Powertrain Assembly Plant.

  • MRO purchasing as required by Powertrain Assembly Plant.

  • Develop and implement cost savings activities, as indicated in the AMGBOS

  • Cultivate supplier relationships to ensure production requirements are met

  • Perform and adequately document complex cost and price analyses to ensure fair and reasonable price determination; work with team members to ensure contract files are complete and satisfy Government/Customer requirements to maintain SCM's approved Cost Estimating and Purchasing Systems.

  • Alert to cost reduction measures to eliminate unnecessary company expenditures and enhance profit.

  • Interacts with and supports all company departments, maintains a professional company image to suppliers, visitors and the general public.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Previous purchasing experience with complex powertrain assemblies and components required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business/Accounting, Masters Degree is preferred

  • Professional Certification (CPSM and/or CPSD) by the Institute of Supply Management is preferred

  • Green Belt Preferred

  • Strong computer skills required (Word, Excel, SAP)

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
