The Supplier Operations Engineer (SOE) – Driveline is responsible for managing different supplier locations and parts to ensure high quality products are produced and transported to STELLANTIS’s Vehicle Plants. The engineer will provide on-site launch support at suppliers’ facilities to ensure launch readiness leading up to and including program launch. They will also be responsible for managing post launch continuous improvement activities and provide on-site support at STELLANTIS plants as required. The Engineer will also be responsible for working cross functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing to ensure proper designs, suppliers, and manufacturing processes are selected. Within our Supplier Operations Engineering roles we ask that our engineers drive change within both plant manufacturing and component suppliers to resolve complex component issues. It is the engineer’s responsibility to ensure component suppliers’ processes are robust and capable in order to stay on track and manage key component quality milestones. Overall, the engineer will lead all problem solving activities with internal and external organizations, manage warranty with their suppliers, and ensure best practices/ lessons learned are applied across the several different Propulsion programs.

Typical job responsibilities for a Propulsion Supplier Operations Engineer may include any of the following:

  • Audit supplier’s quality systems and manufacturing processes, including critical production processes at sub-tiers

  • Establish close relationships with assigned suppliers and actively drive continuous improvement activities following the STELLANTIS Foundational Principles

  • Initiate and follow-up on corrective actions and verify effectiveness on-site

  • Participation in launch teams for purchased components within the vehicle and Propulsion platforms

  • Support supplier APQP and PPAP activities to ensure all deliverables are being fulfilled

  • Be an effective liaison between the supplier and the extended STELLANTIS team

  • Assist in educating suppliers on STELLANTIS systems and requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent engineering degree from an ABET accredited program or equivalent program

  • 5+ years of work experience in quality, engineering, or manufacturing

  • Ability to travel up to 20% within the NAFTA region

  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite software

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or a Master’s in Business Administration

  • Green Belt or Black Belt skills (Reactive/Red X/Shainin)

  • Quality certification

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and tasks

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team

  • Creative problem solving ability and a results orientation

  • Comfortable with complex technical analysis

  • Experience with Driveline components and/or processes
