Job Overview

Qualifications

The Body/Chassis/Interior/Wiring Integration (BCIW) team designs and develops new vehicles globally with a focus on system and subsystem design integration. The Vehicle Top Hat Application Lead will be responsible for the integration of all Body, Exterior, Closures, Interior and high/low voltage wiring components in the vehicle Top Hat zone. The Application Lead will identify and resolve integration, some packaging and design issues as the vehicle moves through the entire development process. He/she will lead cross-functional team meetings, working with all product development teams including systems and components, packaging, advance manufacturing, service, etc. to ensure that the technical solutions are optimized for all stages of the vehicle’s life leading to proper integration of the vehicle.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent (Materials /Chemical/ Civil/ Aerospace/Computer/Computer Science or equivalent) from an ABET accredited or equivalent program

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience

  • Experience with CAD systems knowledge (VisMock up) and Teamcenter or equivalent

  • Experience creating and analyzing alternative design and integrating systems and components

  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills

  • Ability to lead teams and meetings through technical tradeoffs and optimized solutions with attention to detail

  • May be required to visit plants to lead issue resolution

Preferred Qualification:

  • Master of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program

  • Knowledge of DFSS process and/or Green Belt certification

  • Experience with CAD systems knowledge (NX) with the ability to position and manipulate models, cut sections, dimension and conceptualize designs

  • Broad vehicle knowledge

  • Design and release experience in body or/and Interior

  • Experience with Power and Signal Distribution (PASD) development

  • Ability to integrate stakeholder requirements into final vehicle design

  • Ability to present ideas and concepts successfully to all levels of management

  • Hands-on vehicle experience
