RWC Inc Mechanical Designer in Bay City, Michigan

Works closely with Project Leaders or Engineering Management in producing mechanical designs which are accurate, complete, and mechanically viable with the aid of little or no reference material or concept sketches.uEssential Functions:/u 1.Create conceptually and dimensionally correct designs which meet customer and/or RWC requirements, which are free of all interferences.ol start="2"liConfers with Chief Engineer and Project Leader to interpret design concepts, determine nature and type of required detailed working drawings and coordinates work with others./li/olol start="3"liReview and understands proposal, RFSO, and design criteria to ensure design meets contractual agreement./li/olol start="4"liPerform calculations for all critical motions and review with the Project Leader./li/olol start="5"liDesign all components to meet RWC's lubrication philosophy and label special requirements on all layouts./li/olol start="6"liBalloon all purchased components on assemblies with all the appropriate ordering information./li/olol start="7"liZero-line dimension on all layouts, and references locations, as required./li/olol start="8"liDocuments data, computes quantities, determines materials needed and evaluates cost for machinery to be manufactured./li/olol start="9"liIdentify all critical locating points and/or surfaces./li/olol start="10"liClearly label all part sizes and part ranges./li/olol start="11"liShow all part sizes, part ranges, and overlap of stations on either side of your design./li/olol start="12"liKeep the Project Leader informed (on a weekly basis) of your progress in order to meet the completion date./li/olol start="13"liShow all views as required, labeled with stock flow arrows./li/olol start="14"liDetermine build-up of tolerances between details and final assembly of customer part prints./li/olol start="15"liShow all motions (extend and retract) and potential interferences areas./li/olol start="16"liDesign in all switches for all motions (Use RWC standard components)./li/olol start="17"liAdd design intent to layouts where the intent of the design or ideas are not clear./li/olol start="18"liBalloon all manufacture parts on assemblies, with any odd or special materials labeled./li/olol start="19"liFollow the AMechanic Design Process@ gates flow chart./li/olol start="20"liFollow all RWC corporate and engineering ISO-9001 procedures./li/olol start="21"liPrepares a preliminary sequence of operation chart, and to coordinate the transfer of information to electrical engineering and to fluid power engineering, so as to not cause a delay in the project schedule./li/olol start="22"liHelp train and guide layout draftsmen and Detailers./li/olol start="23"liPerform a Detailer line-up meeting with the Project Leader and the Detailer./li/olol start="24"liPerform the checker line-up meeting with the Project Leader, Checker, and the Detailer./li/olol start="25"liRespond to manufacturing request for technical assistance during the build of the equipment./li/olol start="26"liTravel to customer facility for project meeting and/or design reviews, or as required./li/olol start="27"liRemove all Junk.DWG file
