Scope of Role:

Designs and/or modifies parts and assemblies on new and existing product to customer requirements. Maintains and processes CAD and engineering documentation. Supports business lines as well as internal and external customers and suppliers to provide proper design requirements.

Position Focus:

50% Designs and/or modifies parts and assemblies primarily using SOLIDWORKS 3D drawing tools to meet the customer’s requirements.

20% Provides creative cost effective recommendations to all requests, including prototype, cost informational and engineering changes in a timely manner.

15% Prepares information including tolerance stack-ups, design calculations, detail sheets, modified prints and engineering standards per engineer’s requests. Supports print /design reviews. Utilize Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) to support design and engineering print creation

5% Provides training and consultation as required.

5% Responsible for project management.

5% Maintains, coordinates and processes routine engineering documentation and performs other miscellaneous duties as required.

Persons occupying this position will be expected to sign an Employee Inventions and Proprietary Information agreement.

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Design or a technically related field OR at least four (4) years product design experience, Bachelor’s Degree, Mechanical Engineering preferred
  • Proven working knowledge of Geometric Design and Tolerances (GD&T;)
  • Demonstrated ability to operate 2D and 3D CAD system to design and components
  • Ability to apply proper detailing requirements to engineering prints and perform accurate tolerance stack-up calculations
  • Fluency in SOLIDWORKS with strong component and assembly modeling
  • FEA, CFD, and additional simulation experience a plus
