Aerotek Controls Engineer in Buchanan, Michigan

Description:

The primary responsibility will be to take on the design effort on assigned projects under the direction of the Engineering Manager. They will have to program and troubleshoot PLCs for automated machines and equipment that Edgewater manufactures.

Responsibilities would include:

*Program PLC's from scratch for custom automation equipment

*Troubleshoot, edit and debug PLC's

*Travel with equipment to customer

*Write and document software

*Review and take ownership of budgets and schedules

*Work with the Project Manager to develop costs to complete and release dates

*Coordinate with the Controls Assembly Department during the build phases of the project to provide efficient and timely solutions to problems

*After power-up, debug software to develop the machine into a “production worthy” system

*Participate as a team member during the installation phase of the project.

Projects range in size from $100,000 to 2 million dollars. Domestic/International Travel will be required approximately 20% of the time.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

MUST:

*4+ years' experience PLC programming from scratch for custom machines/equipment

*4+ years experience with Allen Bradley PLC programming software

*Commissioning and start-up experience

*Ability to travel up to 20% of the time

PLUS:

*BS in Electrical Engineering

*Siemens PLC software

*Hardware design experience using AutoCAD (electrical panel layouts, electrical schematics, circuit design)

*Fanuc Robotic experience

*Servo Motor experience

*Project Management or Lead Engineer experience

Experience Level:

Intermediate Level
