If so MEC has a unique opportunity for an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to join our Team!
Primary Function: Investigate, analyze and resolve supplier quality problems by conducting audits, analyzing defect trends and leading continuous improvement projects.
Monitor, communicate and improve key supply chain KPI’s, including Supplier OTD (Past due), DPPM and waste
Champion problem solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers and customers to eliminate recurrence of non-conformances
Work to resolve supplier technical issues in a timely manner to ensure continuity of supply
Develop long-term supplier relationships and generate and implement cost reduction ideas
Strategically lead supplier performance improvement projects to increase the supplier capability of consistently meeting MEC requirements. Projects may include; process analysis, value stream mapping, process capability and throughput analysis, 6-Sigma, 5S and Kaizen events
Drive a “Zero Defect” mentality within the supply base
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 4 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced computer sills using Microsoft Office applications and experience in project management. Knowledge of various quality system methodologies including 8D, Lean, 5 Whys, Pareto Analysis, Six Sigma, DFMEA, PFEMA, PPAP, etc. Previous experience auditing in a TS or IATF environment required as is Six Sigma experience.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively create and present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis, or be able to functionally utilize tools that perform these functions such as Excel.
Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
