What you will be able to do
We are defining the future of the driving experience and you can be at the center of it all! In this key role, you will craft, develop and integrate vehicle subsystems, sensors and instrumentation into Advanced Driver Assist Systems (ADAS) fleet vehicles for validation testing and development. You will:
Utilize knowledge of connected vehicle functions, architecture and subsystems to develop methods for tracking, analyzing and monitoring connected vehicle data from the ADAS fleet
Develop system and subsystem level design, interfaces and specifications to support instrumentation and integration plans for future sensor/feature testing within fleet vehicles
Integrate and configure models and other software packages with a variety of production and other in-vehicle hardware to enable early feature-level in-vehicle verification
Design, install and use in-vehicle testing and data acquisition tools to assess feature performance
Support and coordinate root-cause analysis with internal and external suppliers to ensure accurate performance of ADAS features and associated connected vehicle data, instrumentation and data acquisition systems on fleet vehicles
Understand connected vehicle needs from various feature teams to be able to identify needs for future fleet and instrumentation updates
Investigate and integrate new remote sensing technologies, connected vehicle technologies and data collection systems to improve feature testing and validation capability
The minimum requirements we seek
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science
2+ years of experience working on automotive electronics, connected vehicle sub-systems and/or driver assistance features (e.g. Adaptive Cruise Control, Pre-Collision Assist, Park Assist, etc.) using radars, cameras, LIDAR’s and/or ultrasonic sensors
Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License and legally be allowed to drive in the United States
Our preferred requirements
Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Computer Science
Hands-on, in-vehicle experience with production ECUs/modules, sensors, instrumentation and experimental (e.g. DSpace) components
Understanding automotive connected vehicle architecture and associated in-vehicle subsystems
Knowledge of connected vehicle technology and data collection methods and processes
Experience with integration, installation and test validation of in-vehicle subsystems, sensors, instrumentation and data acquisition units
Understanding of embedded hardware and software design
System configuration, analysis and debugging using Vector tools (e.g. CANalyzer, CANoe, CANape, etc.) and MATLAB or equivalent
Experience with CAN/CAN-FD, Flexray and Ethernet networking, distributed systems, software configuration and configuration management
Experience developing wiring diagrams and architecting in-vehicle instrumentation systems for data acquisition, connected vehicles, sensing or feature development and validation
Understanding of remote sensing systems such as Radar, Lidar, Vision Cameras, GPS with maps and Vehicle to Vehicle Communications
Excellent communication and time management skills
Ability to work within a fast paced, team environment
