The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting Ford’s Autonomous Vehicle efforts as part of the AV Systems Engineering team under the “AV LLC”. As part of the feature team, you will help develop unique AV features not commonly found in traditional retail automotive products. Work in a dynamic & extremely challenging environment that includes many white space areas. Help Ford realize its AV vision as part of tomorrow’s transportation solutions.
Within Ford AV LLC Engineering, work may include but is not limited to:
Conduct and process the output of the development verification test plan to ensure that technical safety requirements were met and we are achieving our safety goal
Help create requirements and provide into our industry safety consortium activities, specifically developing best practices for AV safety assurance.
Follow best practices for developing robust processes
Document designs and implementation details
Effectively communicate through presentations and demonstrations
Currently enrolled B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields
6+ months of experience (internship or coursework also permitted) of computer coding in C++ and electrical engineering classwork
Ability to complete a 3+ month assignment
GPA 3.0 or higher
Interest in Autonomous Vehicle safety (development of operational safety requirements)
Interest in Systems Engineering
Interest in Simulation development
Proficiency in MS products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Experience using MATLAB and CarSim a plus
Possess strong oral and written language skills
Involvement with Formula SAE or similar extracurricular activities, strong communication skills, ability to work within diverse teams
