What you will be able to do
Are you ready to join a dynamic group of engineers striving to find new ways to further technology in the context of making drivers’ lives easier and safer? We are responsible for features today that use sensors, which will bring autonomy tomorrow. We are responsible for both existing and future technologies in the driver assistance area, using cameras, radar and ultrasonic sensors, as well as powerful ECUs with advanced processing capability and machine vision, to deliver new features for our customers. We are delivering systems that assist our customers in their commutes every day, while acting as a stepping-stone towards full autonomy. You will:
Lead the system engineering effort for the camera system including the requirements documents per the company’s System Engineering process
Support the model development of new camera based driver assistance features
Support the feature owners in the development of Feature specifications, FMEAs, robustness disciplines and Design Verification Plans for advanced camera features
Own the camera system interfaces and develop interface requirements through all affected parties (e.g. Vehicle engineering, core, D&R engineering, etc.) of affected subsystems/components
Own feature description and communicate to vehicle teams /feature planning and marketing
Support HMI strategy development with HMI and Ergonomics
Support the HMI strategy implementation into components (e.g. Switches, Instrument cluster displays, Center Stack displays, haptic feedbacks, other indicators, etc.) and support the approval process through appropriate governing bodies
Understand the performance requirements for the cameras - both as a visual image and as a sensor - and establish procedures to verify performance both quantitatively and subjectively
Understand system interactions in terms of vehicle dynamics to identify possible improvements and trade-offs
Identify changes needed to improve performance and meet objectives
Establish Feature objectives and ensure system operation to meet the objectives through structured component, sub-system and system level test methodologies
The minimum requirements we seek
Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Computer Science
2+ years of experience with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS)
1+ year of experience using Matlab, Simulink, dSpace and/or Vector CAN tools (coursework/internship/co-op experience allowed)
Our preferred requirements
1+ year of writing vehicle, system, feature and/or component specifications
1+ year of writing Design Verification Methods for driver assistance features
Knowledge of camera based driver assistance systems
Experience with Control algorithm development
Familiarity with driver assistance algorithms (e.g. Object Detection, path planning, etc.)
Experience developing and conducting laboratory and vehicle tests
Experience with data collection and analysis of camera systems
Experience with design and development of image processing or similar digital signal processing applications
Familiarity with functional safety and ISO 26262
Familiarity with FMVSS 111
Experience with structured problem solving methodologies (e.g. 8Ds, 6-Sigma, Shainin, etc.)
Program Management and/or Design and Release experience in automotive electronic module development
