Job description:

Diesel Setpoint Optimization Calibration Engineer positions offered by Ford Motor Company (Dearborn, MI). Optimize the engine set-point calibration for key vehicle and program attributes in engine dynomometer test cells. Address both dynomometer and vehicle data to produce optimal calibration. Develop and execute design of experiment based methods to create, progress and mature the engine set-point calibration.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master’s or foreign equivalent degree in mechanical engineering or a related field

  • 3 years of experience working with internal combustion engines, combustion processes and effective engine test methods

  • 3 years of experience performing diesel engine calibration

  • 3 years of experience using ETAS/INCA and ASCMO testing and data acquisition tools

  • 3 years of experience developing and optimizing engine fuel/air setpoints targeted for engine programs with current/future US emissions requirements

  • 3 years of experience performing engine-out and tailpipe emissions development, including current diesel after-treatment technologies

  • 3 years of experience using diesel engine control systems to deliver the fuel/air setpoints, engine-out and tailpipe emissions

  • 1 year of experience performing CAE modelling of internal combustion engines
