What you will be able to do

eDrive Electronics Hardware Core Engineer would be responsible for the development of requirement and design verification documents for electric drive systems’ controllers. The responsibilities would also include working with suppliers for the design and development of such controllers as well as design reviews, functions verification, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, hardware testing, and benchmarking. You will:

  • Conduct cross-functional activities in development of the requirements of the controllers for electric drive systems

  • Review circuit design/schematics/layout, EMI reduction, fault tolerance/protection/diagnostic, and ensure on time delivery

  • Develop control circuit function verification method, conduct function verification test and troubleshooting

  • Support Root Cause Analysis for field issues

  • Support other function team’s test, such as Hardware-in-Loop Test, High Voltage Lab test, Motor Dyno Test, Vehicle Test, EMC test, etc.

  • Support Benchmark activities

The minimum requirements we seek

  • Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering

  • 2+ years of experience in Electrical and/or electronics designs, including:

  • Analog/digital mixed circuit design

  • Failure diagnosis and/or troubleshooting of electronic devices

  • Signal sensing technologies, such as Current/Voltage/Position/Temperature Sensing, etc.

  • Sensor signal conditioning circuit design and/or Op-Amp design

  • 2+ years of experience with simulation tools (e.g. Matlab, Pspice, Saber)

Our preferred requirements

  • Knowledge of Microcontroller, Power Devices (e.g. MOSFET, Transistor, IGBT, SiC, etc.), Logic IC, High side driver/Low side driver, and SMD passive components

  • Experience of Power electronics circuit design, such as SMPS design, Gate Drive Circuit design

  • Knowledge/experience of worst-case circuit analysis

  • Knowledge/experience of Power inverters and motor control

  • Knowledge of DFMEA/DFSS and accelerated life test

  • Knowledge of G8D for Root Cause Analysis

  • Knowledge/experience with automotive electronics and EMC knowledge

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills

  • Self-motivated with the ability to learn and manage multiple tasks
