Job Description:

AK Steel has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer at our Dearborn Works facility. The Electrical Maintenance Engineer ensures the reliability of the electrical equipment by leading the preventative maintenance program and supporting the maintenance department. This position will put your root cause failure analysis to the test as you keep the fast pace of steel production running optimally.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead root cause failure analysis as required

  • Provide reliability input into maintenance procedures, standards and specifications

  • Identify, quantify and implement initiatives that will improve overall equipment reliability and performance

  • Conduct regular and formal downtime analysis for critical equipment

  • Manage maintenance upgrade projects to improve mill infrastructure systems

  • Work with electrical maintenance personnel, vendors, and suppliers to improve electrical reliability, repair procedures, and drawing accuracy

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required

  • 3 years of heavy industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience preferred

  • Background in PLC's, AC and DC motor and drive controls, basic power distribution and relay board logic required

  • Strong communication and analytical ability required
