What you will be able to do
The future of human mobility is happening at our Research and Innovation Center! You will play a key role in supporting, maintaining and updating this state-of-the-art facility. You will design and deliver projects to support the research and development laboratory work as you collaborate with research engineers and Ford Land to define engineering scope, quotations and project execution. This position also involves interacting/aligning with UAW and outside vendors on various capital related projects within the Center. You will:
Develop Scope of Work documents for demolition and installation of new equipment (electrical, process cooling, Air, etc.)
Working with architectural firms to get drawings needed by UAW Trades or construction partners
Review drawings with customers to ensure they meet project needs, standards and timing
Initiating a Scope of Work Document; complete work order forms for Ford Land for bids; review bids with customers
Lead for project work with outsourced construction partners and assist in purchase order generation
Provide technical/engineering support for RIC laboratory systems, such as HVAC controls, Gas detection and specialty water
Managing test equipment projects, including tracking and managing cost, timing and equipment installations
Leading activities with equipment vendors and skilled trades
Developing capital test equipment projects and project timelines
The minimum requirements we seek
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science
Three or more years of experience developing capital test equipment projects and timelines
Our preferred requirements
Three plus years of experience with industrial building management
Three or more years of experience with Facility Operations and/or Test Laboratories
Ability to work independently and with schedule flexibility
Strong analytical, oral and written skills
Microsoft Office skills and basic computer programming skills
