Within our plants around the world, we’re constantly developing new technologies and processes to further increase our efficiency. That means we’re continually seeking diligent, determined performers who think outside the box to help us find better and more efficient ways to manufacture our vehicles.

What you’ll be able to do:

In this important role, you will provide exceptional manufacturing leadership, from tooling design and development through the launch of a new model program, including specially-welded assemblies. Using CAD tools, you will evaluate manufacturing feasibility such as joint design, flange lengths, weld gun access, design gaps and clearances. You will also oversee assembly tooling strategies, bid packages, procurement, supplier management, design and build, installation and prove-out at the assembly plant. We’re seeking someone located in the Detroit, MI area.

**This position will be home based during non-launch times and will require approximately 75% travel time to assembly locations – including out-of-country locations – during pre-launch and launch of the new product.

The minimum requirements we seek:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technology-based field

• 10 or more years of experience with manufacturing and assembly operations and/or vehicle launches

• 5 or more years of manufacturing leadership from tooling design & development through the launch of a new model program experience.

Our preferred requirements:

• 5 or more years of experience with evaluate manufacturing feasibility using CAD tools to evaluate joint design, flange lengths, weld gun access, design gaps & clearances.
