Motion Technologies is one of four ITT Value Centers focused on the Transportation industry. The Motion Technologies Value Center generates over $862M in revenues and is made up of three businesses.
As an Analysis Engineer within our NVH R&D Engineering team, you will play a critical role in the development of a next generation modeling software interface that can we used internally and by our customers to reduce testing iterations to find NVH solutions on brake systems. You will be an innovative and skilled problem solver, using all analytical tools available to you. You will be both technically innovative as an individual, and as an active member in a diverse and challenging cross-functional team environment.
Responsible for creating, analyzing and optimizing a new state-of-the-art finite element (FE) model using Abaqus software to advance us to the next level beyond our competition
Perform advanced brake NVH simulations with Abaqus to create a software interface to perform modeling on brake systems focusing on the brake shim contribution to reducing brake noise.
Develop novel methodologies to enable fast and accurate solutions if current analytical tools are insufficient or do not exist
Use correlated simulations and work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to reduce time to NVH solutions.

NVH Analysis Engineer
Skills and Experience:
Minimum Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics or Mathematics.
Detailed and applied knowledge of Finite Element Analysis, Applied Solid Mechanics, Material Science and Numerical Methods in a product development environment.
Detailed and applied software experience in CAE pre-processors, solvers and post- processors in a product development environment. Must have experience creating complex models using Abaqus.
Experience working with in the Brake NVH community.
Experience working with sheet metal and steel/rubber laminates.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and with teams on problems that are challenging to solve and requiring innovative solutions.
Demonstrated ability to generate FEA models to analyze NVH outputs in Abaqus.
Demonstrated ability in iterative and collaborative engineering environments – success in roles requiring high levels of technical communication and interpretation of analytical results to design engineers and technical leadership.
Demonstrated ability to deliver analysis on challenging projects with extremely tight timing constraints.
Basic level of working ability with scripting in Python or native software environments is a plus
