Job Description & Qualifications:
Product Development Powertrain Cooling Systems Supervisor positions offered by Ford Motor Company (Dearborn, MI). Supervise and manage an engineering team to design, develop, optimize and manufacture powertrain cooling components, commodities and systems that deliver Quality, Cost, Weight, and Functional requirements. Develop robust commodity and system work plans to support engineering teams to meet program timing and deliverables as per Global Product Development System (GPDS) disciplines. Manage activities and career development of direct reports. Develop and enhance key interface relationships. (i.e. suppliers, global regional business units, finance, engineering interfaces, etc.). Responsible for planning and executing supplier sourcing decisions, overall budget, headcount and resource management.
Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in automotive systems engineering, mechanical engineering or a related field
5 years of experience in the position offered or 5 years of experience engineering powertrain systems / components, including experience with CAD, CAE, Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
4 years of experience designing and executing powertrains as installed systems, engines, transmissions and electrified powertrains
3 years of experience designing and releasing powertrain systems and associated hardware with a focus on cooling systems
3 years of experience applying Systems Engineering, DFMEA, PFMEA, GD&T, automotive product development processes, six sigma methods, Teamcenter, and APQP/ PSW processes
