We are seeking experienced candidates for a Research Engineer – Human Factors position in our Dearborn, MI location.

Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will have experience developing complex automotive systems from the user’s perspective and developing the HMI strategy for these systems. We are looking for exceptionally creative, motivated and talented engineers to join our team. We collaborate extensively within Ford and with external partners, thus we require exceptional communication and collaborative skills. The candidate will also be involved in planning and executing human factors studies on complex systems as well as developing the HMI strategy for these systems. This candidate will work closely with different Ford engineering teams, devising and developing new solutions to the challenges of global mobility

Job Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in human factors engineering or related technical fields

  • 2 years of applied Human Factors work (graduate work is acceptable)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 + years’ experience designing, conducting and analyzing human factors studies; schooling experience considered

  • 5 + years’ experience designing user interfaces and user experiences for complex systems; schooling experience considered

  • Ability to think creatively and to champion innovative design solutions.

  • Experience with voice dialogue systems

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong team player with record of collaboration

  • Excellent networking skills

  • Strong organizational and administrative skills

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Strong problem-solving and conflict management skills

  • Successful candidate should be able to demonstrate leadership in One FORD (leadership) behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills
