Walker-Miller Energy Service Energy Engineer in Detroit, Michigan

Position Summary:This position is responsible for providing technical support to customers and trade allies. In this role, you will provide energy advice and coordination services for the energy efficiency programs; these services include building maintenance, lighting, controls, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems for energy efficiency and comfort. This is a client-facing role in which you will interact with and provide customers with advice and recommendations on the solutions that best suit their needs. You will also be working with others who are passionate about energy efficiency and making a positive impact on the industry.Position Duties and Responsibilities: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.ulliWork with business and building owners, developers, architects, engineers and contractors to provide energy efficiency advice and assistance in participating energy efficiency or energy conservation programs./liliEvaluate customerrsquo;s application, specification sheets and engineering calculations. Collect all required documentation and ensure all qualified measures are installed at customer facilities./liliKnowledge of technical elements of energy consuming equipment in a facility (lighting (LED, Fluorescent, HID), HVAC system, hot water systems, compressed air System building envelope, refrigeration, integrated design) and how it affects utility consumption and demand, to help build a business case to prioritize recommendations and how they affect savings and first cost./liliEnter data into the databases to determine energy savings and how those savings align with current projects./liliEnsure compliance with all quality and safety policies/liliEmbrace and operate within the core values/li/ulEducation and Experience:ulliBachelorrsquo;s Degree in Engineering, Technical Science(s), or similar four (4) year degree/lili2 years in energy or process related engineering/liliMust be proficient withMicrosoft Office Suite and Excel/liliMust be able to complete technical and financial analysis/liliExcellent written and verbal communication skills/liliSolid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills/liliMust be able to work under tight deadlines/liliMust be able to perform energy analysis and simulations with support of experienced staff/liliExcellent client-facing communication skills/li/ulLicenses Certifications:ulliCertified Energy Manager and the LEED AP credentials ndash; Preferred/li/ulPhysical Demands and Work Environment:ulliRequired to sit, stand, walk; talk and hear; and ability to touch and handle tools and/or controls/liliThe employee is frequently required to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl/liliNoise level is typically moderate/liliMay occasionally be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; and vibration.
