The Detroit office of SmithGroup is looking for a Entry Level Mechanical Engineer to join our team. Working with us, you will:ulliPerform analysis, design and documentation of heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, plumbing systems, laboratory and process piping and controls under direct supervision./liliDevelop solutions to challenging HVAC issues with integrated architecture and engineering project design teams./liliContribute to SmithGroup sustainable design initiatives by using a variety of software to perform energy, heating and cooling load and computational fluid dynamic calculations./liliPerform production for assigned engineering work and document changes to engineering drawings as instructed./liliAssist in construction administration as directed./liliMay assist in developing proposal materials./li/ul An ideal candidate has:ulliA bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or equivalent./liliMinimum 1 year of related experience working (including summer, co-op or intern work) in the AE field./liliLEED AP and Engineer-in-Training certification preferred./liliKnowledge of building code concepts and specifications./liliProficiency in Autodesk Revit, Trane TRACE software, CAD, and the Microsoft Office Suite (with advanced knowledge of Word and Excel)./li/ul SmithGroup offers competitive compensation and an excellent benefit package, including 401(k) and continuing educational reimbursement.
