Qualifications

The Material Handling Engineer is responsible for managing new model and existing platform rack programs. The Material Handling Engineer will work with Corporate Material Handling Engineering (CHME) to ensure efficient material flow, support minimal material handling concepts, quality delivery of racks/containers on a timely basis. Maintain existing fleet racks along with all personnel industrial vehicle equipment including Hi-Lo, Tuggers, System Guided Vehicles and Automated Guided Vehicles. Manage container return system within the plant and eliminate cardboard. Partner with plant ergonomics and safety to establish standards which support World Class Manufacturing initiatives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Minimum of 18 months related material/production control experience and/or manufacturing supervisory experience

  • Prior experience in material flow systems, design, managing, and purchasing

  • Experience with installation of material handling equipment such as rack indexers, turn tables, over/unders shuttles and conveyors

  • Must be able to interface fluently with all levels of plant personnel

  • Must be able to write projects

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills

  • Must be able to work all shifts and weekends

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering

  • Bachelor’s degree in Package Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or Master’s degree

  • Experience with CAD design is a plus
