tabletbodytrtd class="HeaderStyle" colspan="2"Senior Mechanical Designer/td/trtrtd colspan="2"tabletbodytrtd class="CaptionStyle"Job Code:/tdtd class="MainBodyText"2019-MECH-MI-005/td/trtrtd class="CaptionStyle"Location:/tdtd class="MainBodyText"Detroit, Michigan/td/trtrtd class="CaptionStyle"Department:/tdtd class="MainBodyText"1240 Mechanical Engineering/td/trtrtd class="CaptionStyle"FT/PT Status:/tdtd class="MainBodyText"Full-time/td/trtrtd/tdtd/td/tr/tbody/table/td/trtrtd class="MainBodyText" colspan="2"PRIMARY FUNCTIONProvide support during the development of design and technical systems for projects from schematics through construction administration.TYPICAL DUTIESulliDesign HVAC ductwork sizing and layout, HVAC load calculations, HVAC pipe sizing and layout./liliUnderstand the design of mechanical HVAC systems for buildings (plumbing and fire protection) preferably in science and technology, healthcare and corporate and commercial facilities./liliUnderstand the coordination aspects of all design disciplines and how they impact the project./liliVisualize complex layout parameters prior to inputting into a 3D model./liliReceive system concepts from discipline lead engineer and develop into detailed system design and documentation./li/ululliDevelop detailed modeled systems from minimal conceptual input from project lead engineer./li/ululliConduct basic interpretations of codes, standards and other similar materials./liliPerform Revit design for the Mechanical Engineering Discipline using knowledge of relevant software programs./liliWork with architectural, interior, and the other engineering disciplines in the coordination of the project under the direction of the project lead engineer/designer or Mechanical Engineering Discipline Leader./liliPerform field work as directed by the project lead engineer/designer or Mechanical Engineering Discipline Leader./liliPerform basic calculations to analyze and design individual building mechanical system components./li/ululliAssist with engineering duties on projects of various complexity./liliAssist with collecting data and gathering information to support design decisions./li/ululliPerform other duties as assigned by the project lead engineer or Mechanical Engineering Discipline Leader./liliDirect junior designers/engineers in project duties./liliParticipate and collaborate in project team setting and engage in creative and critical thought./liliUnderstand mechanical engineering concepts and effectively communicate ideas to others./liliInterpret sketches, drawings, building program and other similar material./liliTake direction, follow process and accept feedback and suggestions from the project lead engineer or Mechanical Engineering Discipline Leader./li/ul/td/trtrtd class="MainBodyText" colspan="2"JOB QUALIFICATIONSulliMinimum 10 years of experience specific to building systems./liliAssociate's Degree or studies toward a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or an engineering-related curriculum from an accredited college or university is preferred./liliA developed understanding of Revit and the use of it as a modeling and BIM tool./liliUnderstanding of Microsoft Office Suite./liliEx
