Position:Substation Engineer (Detroit/Ann Arbor/Novi)Location:Greater Detroit Metro Area, MIJob Id:1958# of Openings:1The OpportunityUlteig is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Substation Engineer to work 100% remote in Detroit/Ann Arbor/Novi, MI. The Engineer acts as a project lead on greenfield substations and retrofits on existing substations and renewable sites. They are a technical leader and applies standard engineering techniques and procedures on complex projects.What You'll DoPlans, schedules, conducts and/or coordinates detailed phases of assigned project work. Makes design recommendations, adaptations and modifications for utility substations, plans, elevations, and details and other drawings associated. Performs calculations using engineering formulas and skills. Mentors and provides technical guidance to other engineers.What We Expect from Youbull;Great communication capabilities and ability to utilize a host of technology tools to effectively interact remotely with team. Opportunity is 100% remote.bull;Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required. ABET accredited program or equivalent requiredbull;PE or P.Eng. license requiredbull;5+ years of engineering experience preferredbull;Knowledge of substation electrical physical (apparatus) design a plusbull;Ability to perform AC DC substation studiesbull;Proficiency with substation protection and control design and industry standards required (capability to develop and review design drawings, including one-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel elevations)bull;Knowledge of relay settings a plusbull;Knowledge of SCADA programming and field integration a plusbull;Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC), National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), and industry standards a plusbull;Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point)bull;Ability to work in a high-paced team environmentbull;Must have permanent authorization to work in the United StatesWhat You Can Expect from UlteigFor 75 years, we've built a culture focused on people - both our clients and our employees.
