Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s Body Design Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Engineer.
The primary responsibility of this role is to have full responsibility to design and develop upper body and/or under body components.
Reporting to the Body Design Senior Manager, the person in this role will support the Body Design department's objective of achieving high quality release at each milestone throughout the full development cycle.
What you’ll be doing
Coordinate the design and development of upper body and/or under body parts
Manage upper body component development throughout the design cycle from concept stage through to production line off by using Toyota development methodologies and processes for vehicle development
Execute design utilizing Catia V5 independently and by leading Supplier Engineers or CAD modelers
Manage and continuously adjust priorities and processes to maintain project targets and deliverables – i.e. schedule, performance, cost and quality
Have visualization of issues, concerns, and gaps for responsible parts and design processes
Participate in improvement and reflection activities as required
What you bring
Bachelor of Science degree (or higher) in an Engineering Discipline
Engineering design experience in a professional setting (Co-op, internship, full-time or engineering organization such as FSAE)
Design experience, using a CAD software
Tool design or hands on injection molding, stamping tools experience
Analytical problem-solving skills
Ability to travel to suppliers, NA manufacturing plants, and Toyota Motor Corporation (Japan)
Effectively work with suppliers and other affiliates
Ability to work 20% overtime
Added bonus if you have:
Bachelor of Science degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering
Toyota experience within Body design or vehicle evaluation
Experience and willingness to use CAD for 3D modeling
Engineering experience with Catia V5
Japanese language proficiency
