You also have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering field from an accredited college/university (Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering) preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years manufacturing engineering experience weld and assembly automation

  • 8 + years of recent manufacturing engineering/technical leadership experience preferred

  • Previous experience working in a high volume manufacturing facility strongly preferred

  • Knowledge and participation with Lean Manufacturing Principles (i.e. Kaizen, Kanban, SMED, Poka-Yoke, Standard Work, Process Mapping, 5S, Six Sigma, etc.)

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt preferred or willing to get certified a plus

  • Experience with heavy large automation and assembly manufacturing processes

  • Extensive knowledge in machined part design including geometric dimensioning, tolerances, & design for manufacturability.

  • Knowledge of ISO9001/14001 a plus

  • Proficient computer skills including MS Office, SAP, AutoCAD (or CAD software), ProTrak, etc.

  • Basic design skills and knowledge of GD&T, Solid Works, and AUTOCAD

  • Project management skills including the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously using MS Project Software

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on a “hands-on” approach.

  • Must possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization

  • Must have excellent communication skills, written and verbal, and be a team player

What You’ll Do

As an Automation Delivery Weld & Assembly Automation Engineer, you’ll:

  • Drive continuous improvement principles throughout the weld and assembly Stanley Black & Decker facilities.

  • Provide technical and strategic leadership to the Manufacturing Engineering Team and Quality Technicians to achieve operational and business goals

  • Support Stanley Black & Decker Operational business metrics for Safety, Quality, Service, and Cost

  • Support manufacturing plant capital projects with financial and technical expertise

  • Support and expand Lean culture throughout the Facility to create or improve material flow

  • Working knowledge of Quality Systems, Six Sigma, PPAP, Capability Studies, and Statistical Process Control a plus

  • Meet or exceed customer requirements for all initiatives

  • Plan, manage and implement multiple projects over multiple sites within the Stanley Black & Decker Infrastructure Business

  • Continually seek new technology opportunities.

  • Integrate robotics with peripherals, such as welders, controllers, or other equipment.

  • Identify and work with integration partners to achieve system design and implementation

  • Make system device lists or event timing charts.

  • Investigate mechanical failures or unexpected maintenance problems.

  • Analyze and evaluate robotic systems.

  • Conduct research on robotic technology to create new robotic systems or system capabilities.

  • Provide technical support for robotic systems.

  • Review or approve designs, calculations, or cost estimates to justify capital investments.

  • Ability to debug robotics programs.

  • Conduct research into the feasibility, design, operation, or performance of robotic mechanisms, components, or systems, such as planetary rovers, multiple mobile robots, reconfigurable robots, or man-machine interactions.

  • Design and or conceptualize innovative automated robotic systems to increase production volume or precision in high-throughput operations, such as automated ribonucleic acid (RNA) analysis or sorting, moving, or stacking production materials.

  • Design robotic systems, such as advanced displays, advanced sensing, robotic platforms, computer vision, or telematics systems.

  • Design or program robotics systems for environmental clean-up applications to minimize human exposure to toxic or hazardous materials or to improve the quality or speed of clean-up operations.
