h3Position Summary/h3 Assists in development, implementation, and monitoring of University programs designed to ensure the safe handling, storage, transport, and disposal of regulated and non-regulated hazardous chemical, bio-hazardous, and radioactive materials; assists in preparing for, participates in, and reviews responses to spills and releases of hazardous materials; assists in the management and review of University programs and policies which maintain licensure by and ensures compliance with state and federal hazardous materials regulations; may require occasional after hour emergency response. Position responsibilities are expected to include inspection and risk remediation in laboratories and other facilities governed by provisions of the Arms Export Control Act, the Export Administration Regulations, and/or by government grant terms and conditions imposing citizenship restrictions on project participants. h3Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills/h3 Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in chemistry, biochemistry, or a closely related science field; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in handling hazardous waste and materials, including knowledge of hazardous materials regulations; training as a Hazardous Waste Site Worker and in Hazardous Materials Response; and possession of a chauffeur''s license; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. h3Desired Qualifications/h3 Experience in industrial hygiene and radiation safety standards and regulations, emergency response, and site remediation; experience with Hazmat analysis; excellent interpersonal skills; demonstrated team player. h3Equal Employment Opportunity Statement/h3 All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, citizenship, disability or protected veteran status. h3Required Application Materials/h3 Resume h3Work Hours/h3 STANDARD 8-5 h3Description of End Date/h3 This is an off-dated position funded for one year from date of hire, with possible extension contingent upon funding renewal. h3Summary of Physical Demands/h3 Lifting requirement up to four hours per day 100lbs. from 0-54 inches; carrying 100lbs 50ft. for up to 4 hours per day; Pushing/Pulling up to 400lbs. on a wheeled cart up to 4 hrs. per day; Climbing A-Frame Ladder or Stairs with 50lbs. up to 30mins per day. h3Summary of Health Risks/h3 This job requires exposure to human blood, serum, and tissues; drive a university vehicle that requires medical certification; wear a respirator; work in noisy areas; work with formaldehyde. h3Bidding eligibility ends on 9/29/2020, 11:55 PM/h3
