Position Summary
MSU Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology is seeking a Research Associate to conduct research on engineering of terpene biosynthesis in heterologous production hosts. The research associate will join the Bjoern Hamberger lab team.
Duties include generation of constructs for transient heterologous expression and evaluation of terpene biosynthetic pathways; analysis of transgenic lines by GC- and LC-MS.

Doctorate -Plant Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, o
Minimum Requirements
PhD in Plant Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field. Excellent communication; strong molecular biology or plant biochemistry skills.
Desired Qualifications
Experience in metabolic engineering and heterologous expression with focus on transient expression in Nicotiana benthamiana for functional screening and stable generation of yeast lines for production, is preferred.
