Position Summary
The Department of Chemistry at Michigan State University invites applications for a position of Research Associate (post-doctoral researcher). This role includes conducting research projects in the Weliky group including but not limited to: biophysical studies of enveloped virus fusion proteins, especially by solid-state NMR.
Required Degree
Doctorate -Physical Chemistry or related area.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have a PhD in chemistry, biochemistry, physics, or related area with graduate or postdoctoral experience in solid-state NMR and/or biophysical characterization of proteins, and a strong track record of scientific productivity.
Desired Qualifications
1) Strong knowledge and experience with solid-state NMR; 2) Prior experience in solid-phase peptide synthesis and/or protein expression and purification and/or membrane protein preparation; 3) Ability to work with undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty, and staff in a collaborative environment; and 4) Good time-management skills.
