ADAS Equipment and Instrumentation Lead

Division A - GEE – Engineering – Electronics


Job Description

This role is responsible for maintaining AEB targets, PED AEB targets, data collection equipment while providing test, development measurement mentorship and guidance for validation, test and development engineers. Therefore, the ADAS Equipment and Instrumentation Engineer must work collaboratively with test engineers, algorithm engineers, purchasing and other internal staff

Expected responsibilities will include the following:

  • Oversite, schedule control, mentorship and training for the set-up of data acquisition equipment

  • As required, maintain, modify and improve test equipment and test system infrastructure

  • When required, purchase, design and develop new test equipment and test control systems

  • Providing advice and consultant support for the acquisition of new equipment – this may mean attending test equipment demonstrations or evaluations of test tools

  • Stay abreast of upcoming regulations and the needs for new test equipment technologies

  • Follow ZF processes to purchase new equipment

  • As required write procedures and standards to support the use and operation of new and existing test equipment

  • Understand and ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations and quality standards


 BSEE, BSME, Engineering Technology Degree, Instrumentation Engineer or

Applicable Experience


  • 5 + years of experience in automotive engineering working in product development with a preferred focus on vehicle system testing.

  • Knowledge of and understanding of automotive electronics manufacturing processes is a plus.

  • Knowledge of laboratory tools for performing product analysis and testing

  • Knowledge in Automotive SPICE assessment model a plus

  • Ability to rapidly assess a system under real life condition by “reading” the traffic to create relevant scenarios (creative driving).

  • Tester / Test management skills.

  • Microsoft Office suite skills including PowerPoint, Excel and Word.

  • Ability to communicate with and understand the needs of internal and external clients.

  • Strong sense of urgency and personal commitment.

  • Able to contribute to strong and dependable teams.

  • Possesses excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents

  • Good driving skills (feeling for vehicle behavior, reliable control of vehicle when carrying out defined test scenarios especially if supporting cars are involved, experienced in driving at all traffic conditions)

  • Valid Driver license in Good Standing
