Position Description

This position is responsible to develop the automated driving object tracking in a system fused from 6+ sensors and different technologies (Radar, Lidar, Camera). This position will also have the technical supervision of the creating of this algorithm within the US automated driving team.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement new test new tracking algorithms for automated driving as technical lead for US team.

-Development of algorithms for automated driving and integral cognitive safety

  • Act as customer interface for perception algorithms in automated driving

  • Support of algorithm architecture and documentation of algorithm design

  • Presentation and discussion of algorithm development topics to and with the customer

  • Coach, mentor and develop junior team members to build expert team in perception in Farmington Hills

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors/Master's/Diploma Degree in Engineering with background in general electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, robotics, system controls, mechatronics, physics, maths, computer sciences, computer engineering or similar disciplines.

  • Profound knowledge in mathematics and physics, explicitly on probabilistics, algebra, differential geometry, kinematics and dynamics of extended bodies

  • Programming experience with high level languages such as C/C++, Python, Matlab

  • Team work, social skills, goal-oriented and structured way of working

  • Good communication with customers and suppliers

  • Intercultural cooperation, willingness to travel

Optional:

  • Experience in the development of algorithms for classical Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, automated driving or similar applications from robotics, medical devices with pattern recognition, detector physics, ...

  • Experience with model-based system and/or algorithm development and related tools

  • Experience with SW architecture (preferably within AUTOSAR environment)

  • Automotive experience, preferably in the field of ADAS, automated driving, vehicle dynamics

  • Experience with Automotive SPICE and ISO 26262 is highly appreciated

  • Good experience with configuration management and version management tools

  • Good knowledge of German cb

Required Education and Experience

Bachelors/Master's/Diploma Degree in Engineering with background in general electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, robotics, system controls, mechatronics, physics, maths, computer sciences, computer engineering or similar disciplines.

Experience and Skill Requirements

-have worked in algorithm development in Automated Driving or Advanced Driver Assistant Systems for 1+ years

-or have worked in the field of (vehicle) dynamics for 4+ years
