This role, located in our Farmington Hills, MI office, will primarily focus on the development, maintenance, and support of several cockpit products being created by the Automotive Systems Cockpit Team. This engineering work may include:
Lightweight requirements analysis and management
Architecture and detailed design work for System and SW components
Technical ownership of System level and SW components, including development, documentation, training, and support responsibilities
Marketing and sales support for cockpit products as needed
This role will also support the creation of major demo properties such as the Renesas Connected Cockpit Vehicle (2017 Dodge RAM w/ custom cockpit install) for marketing events such as CES, etc…
This role will support US based customer cockpit programs, including:
Helping the local automotive marketing team respond to RFI/RFQ submissions from potential customers as needed
Helping answer technical questions from existing and potential new customers as needed
Technical development of HW and SW components and solutions as directed by potential customers (ie: pre-sales engineering)
This role will support the US based FAE organization by providing technical support and guidance as needed
This role may also contribute to various other cockpit team activities, such as roll-out of tools and processes, training, lunch and learn seminars, as well as legal and finance interaction and management.
Team: Automotive Systems Business Division (AST) – Advanced Cockpit Team (ASACO)
At least BSEE/BSCE/BSCSE or equivalent
Strong technical skills surrounding SW development, including some exposure to embedded Linux and interest in Linux, Android, and embedded SoC development
Exposure to common cockpit toolchains such as GHS Integrity, Altia, QNX, etc.
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
Attention to detail and follow-up
15-20 years of experience in Silicon industry
Business background/experience to complement technical skills
Automotive Industry experience preferred but not required
