Dematic Controls Systems Engineer in Grand Rapids, Michigan

Dematic Corp. has a need for a Controls Engineer in our Customer Service group. The successful candidates will have experience working in the material handling industry. Below are the job responsibilities:
Participates in the design of semi-complex systems that integrate hardware and software.
Provides support in semi-complex material specification, schematic preparation and appropriate follow-up.
Participates in recommending ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction and improvement in customer satisfaction.
Provides troubleshooting expertise to projects at customer facilities.
Travel between 20-30% to different customer locations which may include weekends and overtime.
Basic Qualifications:
Technical Degree or Certification
At least 2 years' experience in a related field providing Customer Service Support
Experience with Allen Bradley Logix PLC controls platforms
Experience with controls hardware design
Siemens and Modicon PLC experience a plus.
Electrical design experience
Troubleshooting experience
Preferred Qualifications:
BSEE or related engineering field
5 years' experience preferred
Strong Customer Service mentality
Strong verbal communication skills over the phone
Ability to work independently
Database Administration skills preferred
