As an Electrical Engineer you will focus heavily on Sustaining Engineering support, Printed Circuit Board Assembly design, maintenance of line and Value Analysis/Value Engineering in support of Operations, Research & Development and new product launch.
In your main role at X-Rite Pantone, you will:
Design, develop, and sustain electrical systems and apparatus, such as electric motors, machinery controls, and cable harness. Evaluates electrical systems, products, components, and applications, applying knowledge of electricity and materials. Includes Electromechanical subsystems.
Actively participate in product teardown Kaizen events while creatively engaging and providing ideas, observations, suggestions, and support
Support Value Analysis/Value Engineering team in their efforts to improve the total cost of components, systems and processes at X-Rite. Execute upon VAVE ideas through materials cost reduction, product re-engineering, manufacturing and test process easements, combinations thereof, or other.
Collaborate with product R&D teams to generate VAVE opportunities in existing products post-product launch as part of product continuous improvement strategies.
Leveraging upon external supplier design capabilities to achieve optimal cost within design and quality/reliability constraints of products.
Support the full validation and qualification of Alpha, Beta and Pilot components/systems/processes
Facilitation of design reviews and FMEA exercises with key suppliers to identify & target cost reduction and product reliability improvements in product
Support the identification, qualification and validation of all electrical components and subsystems as required while running through our end-of-life (EOL) and obsolete component process
Participate in cross-functional daily management meetings to ensure organizational alignment
Create the vital test documents, design for experiment and other documentation required for quality control at every step
Proactively monitor production first-pass yield data for non-compliant products and perform statistical analyses to differentiate between single occurrence vs significant trends. This is part of the sustenance role.

Your Education and/or Background Experience will have:
B.S. in Electrical Engineering required
5+ years of experience with EE/PCBA/Electro-Mechanical design experience, preferably in analytical instrumentation or equivalent industry
Exposure to and understanding of the following: Product/System Design, Analog, digital and/or mixed signal development, Analog/digital system modeling and analysis, EMC, EMI, Surge, ESD, Grouding, DFMEA, PFMEA, DFM, Quality Systems and Automated motion controls or power electronics
Mentor Graphics, DX Designer, PADS, CAM350 experience strongly preferred
Basic experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Powerpoint) required, Intermediate experience with Excel desirable
Ability to travel internationally 5% of time
