Dematic Engineering Intern - CAD Data Validation in Grand Rapids, Michigan

The Product Lifecycle Management team is migrating all Dematic drawings and models to a global repository called Teamcenter, with all design work being done using the NX Mechanical CAD package.
When 3D drawings are migrated, the results are not always 100%, requiring comparison, updates and validation to each design. This position plays an important role in applying updates to Dematic global design data to ensure it is 100% accurate and ready for use within the global design community.
Responsibilities:
Will use 3D CAD software system to review, validate and update migrated 3D models and drawings to match current production data.
Will engage with Dematic engineers when there are discrepancies with the designs to determine and apply corrections.
Will update/apply global part number standards to bills of material as part of design review.
Will track and report on progress weekly to the PLM project team.
Skills / education:
Enrolled as a student with the intent to graduate with a degree in mechanical design or related.
Must have good communication skills
Working knowledge of one or more 3D CAD packages required – Autocad Inventor, Solidworks, NX
Working knowledge of Microsoft office suite required
Able to work independently with a minimum of direction
