Eaton Corporation Lead Motor Engineer in Grand Rapids, Michigan
Eaton’s Aerospace division is seeking a Lead Motor Engineer to join our team. The position will be based at our Grand Rapids, MI facility.
The Lead Motor Engineer is responsible for devising concepts, creating drawing and performing detailed testing with respect to requirements. The candidate will need a full understanding of most manufacturing process of major components, in-process validation testing and final test processes to support all phases of new product development. Knowledge of aerospace and OEM customer practices and regulations is highly desirable, but not essential.

You will design motors from requirements provided by the Mechanical group, Electronics group and customer specification.
You will support electric motors & solenoids for a variety of commercial & military aerospace actuator system applications.
You will be working on multiple projects simultaneously.
You will be the technical lead and will be communicating across, upwards and downwards within the organization.
You will be working closely with other functions within the Aerospace organization at various locations within the USA and UK, in addition to support functions in Pune, India.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 3 years of mechanical design experience.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.
This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Knowledge of Brushed or brushless DC Motor and AC Induction motor design.
Experience with Magnetic modeling tools.
Experience with 3D solid modeling (e.g. Pro-E) and BLDC motor controllers.
Position Success Criteria:
- Willing to travel up to 10% of the time.
