Dematic is searching for an Mechanical Engineering Manager at our NA Headquarters in Grand Rapids, MI. Come be a part of a team that leads with innovation and passion. You will need to take a self-starter approach and take a can-do attitude to be successful as the Mechanical Engineering Manager. You will complete the definition of complex projects, assign teams and monitor results while performing technical support to marketing, sales, and/or other departments. Ability to assess and carry out completion of projects and performs project organization, definition, planning, implementation and control. You will establish and prepare technical standards, complex technology design theory and procedures. Further job responsibilities include:
Successfully defines workflows, jobs, and reporting relationships to obtain optimum effectiveness.
Analyzes and understands impact of decisions on business operations.
Supports and develops departmental budgets, and business plans for projects.
Analyzes technology, resource needs and project timelines, to plan and ensure the success of all projects.
Appraises and recommends changes in methods or procedures.
Responsible for overall success of a team anywhere between 4-7 direct reports within the distributor engineering and global project engineering departments.
Requires travel to customer locations and other Dematic locations when needed (maximum 20% traveling requirement).
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or other related engineering field)
At least 5 years' experience with Material Handling Systems
At least 5 years' experience in an Engineering leadership role
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced Degree and/or certification
Excellent verbal and written skills
Strong work ethic and knack to multi-task on a sustained basis
Strong analytical skills and ability to solve challenging issues
