Cosma International Validation Engineer in Grand Rapids, Michigan
Plans and executes validation (testing) activities, internal and external, for new and existing products within program schedule. Maintains customer validation engineering relationships with dedication to customer program schedules. Works with customers/suppliers/peers in understanding and administering customer and governmental product requirements/specifications. Ensures costs, quality, timing, and other related aspects of project targets are met related to validation. Participates in continuous improvement efforts. Researches, recommends, and implements enhancements to products, processes, technology, etc. Part of a cross functional team and may give direction and/or supervise other staff. Performs other duties as necessary in support of projects.
oEnsure all government (FMVSS, CMVSS, ECE, CCC, GCC…) and customers specification (GM, Ford, FCA, BMW, Daimler, Hyundai, Honda…) are tested to the documented procedures. oAssists engineering peers in the creation/execution of Validation Test Plans including Analysis/Development/Validation Plan and Report Form (ADVP&R;). oAssist model shop in the creation of needed fixtures oEnsures test fixtures are available to support planned testing oAssists lab manager or delegate in the quoting of new programs for cost and timing, oAssist other engineering departments in developing test requirements to properly verify electrical and/or mechanical changes to new and current product revisions. oAssist technicians in creation of test setups to properly operate, monitor, and orient the product while under test. oReview lab TIN’s before publishing for quality content and accuracy. oReviews final lab reports/presentation and ensures quality in reporting against customer specifications oAnalyze failures and request corrective action for incorrect lab testing methods. oHelps to coordinate logistics on DV/PV parts that have completed testing oTracks and updates metrics related to Validation Engineer goals and objectives
Skills and Competencies
experience in engineering, project/program management; or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred. Must be broadly familiar with technologies, products, customers, and programs.
