This section supports technical work on projects ranging in scope from complete new electric substations down to single device modifications and change outs. It also includes smart/intelligent devices installed on electric lines.Job Description/ResponsibilitiesThe Standards Engineering Technical Analyst is a team member of the Substation Standards section. Primary responsibility of the position is developing new and maintaining the existing IC Standards being utilized on HVD and LVD substations and lines design projects that are utilized by the DER/IC Division. This includes, but is not limited to, working with schematics, communication block diagrams, detail wiring/layout drawings, panel/cabinet front views, switchboard wiring diagrams and cell libraries using MicroStation CAD software.Other key responsibilities include:and#8226;Support and maintain the IC Standards that are available on the Electric Standards SharePoint siteand#8226;Manage multiple projects or requests regarding IC Standards work, monitor workload, and provide weekly progress updatesand#8226;Develop new and revise existing standard and non-standard nameplates to be used throughout the IC Standardsand#8226;Update the IC Steel Specification Book that shows the various panel assembly/build configurations, as well as, the MK parts used on the IC Standards; provide regular updates of the IC Steel Book to the IC Panel Fabricatorand#8226;Complete drawing revisions to the IC Blue Book Standards; update IC Blue Book Standard files on the Electric Standards SharePoint siteand#8226;Design new and revise existing MK parts to support changes in new IC equipment or material obsolescence; these are to be included in the IC Steel Specification Book and shared with the IC Panel Fabricatorand#8226;Develop new and maintain existing IC Cell Libraries used by the DER/IC Divisionand#8226;Assist in the evaluation of new IC equipment or replacement devices as material becomes obsolete, and implement in new or existing IC Standardsand#8226;Review and comment on vendor approval drawings (e.g. breaker, circuit switcher, motor-operated air break switches, etc.), and incorporate in new or existing IC Standardsand#8226;Participate in discussions with vendors to resolve potential issues on new equipment or standardized drawings used on IC Standardsand#8226;Coordinate and collaborate with other departments to support meeting objectives and deadlines; interfaces will include DER/IC, System Protection, Electric Field Lab, HVD Substation, HVD Lines, Panel Fabricators and vendorsand#8226;Develop new and maintain weekly visual management associated with the IC Standards; identify gaps and develop action plans to reduce or eliminate gapsand#8226;Continuously improve and identify ways to reduce waste within the IC Standards by conducting occasional field visits with field technical employees and Panel Fabricator(s), and seek feedback on current fabrication or construction practices being requested in a design packageand#8226;Adhere to the IC Drafting Standards manual when working on IC Standard
